Daily Makeup Tray

Hello Glammies!

7 years ago, I spent an entire summer in the US. When back, I had nearly a suitcase of drugstore makeup.
As years went by, I bought high end products (Chanel, Guerlain etc.) but being on a budget meant I had fewer and fewer makeup items. Fast forward to 2 years ago and my makeup "collection" was:
Liquid Foundation - Concealer - Powder - Single Eyeshadow - Blush. All items were MAC and I had exactly one of each (except the powder because I had a backup). In 5 years, I went through the extremes!
Now, I like to think of myself as being in a happy middle: I have a healthy makeup collection and I grow it by being very data-based and doing a lot of research on every product. Yet, I have slightly more than I would use everyday. I no longer have a single eyeshadow (it was MAC's Smut if you were wondering), I now own lipsticks in few different hues etc.
While I love playing and experimenting with different products on my time off, I truly have no time to rummage through all my products every morning when I'm running late to work (ya I'm not a morning person..)
The solution? The daily makeup tray/station.
This can be a little storage unit, a dedicated mini drawer, a tray, cake stand, what have you!
The idea is simple: you put your daily "face" in it so that at any given time if you have to do your makeup while the clock is ticking, you know you have all your most reached/current must-use items in one place readily accessible.

Note: we all have seen our fair share of makeup collection videos where the vloggers go like: " this is my foundation section, this is where i keep all concealers, this is all highlighters etc." but gurl, you don't want to open each drawer and pick one item from each section every-single-morning.

I still don't have the much coveted Muji acrylic storage - though very tempted to get one from one of my trips and lug it back home- so I used what I have and stashed as many as my everyday products in this acrylic unit:

My daily makeup storage - Acrylic

What is on my daily makeup unit?
  • My MAC mixing Palette -- because Ouga scared of germs..
  • A MAC quad I made which has: "Pure Orange" skin corrector - brow filler - brow highlight and a color I pick each week
  • MAC Studio Fix Powder in NC45
  • MAC paintpot in "Indianwood" -- just my favorite thing everrr
  • MAC fluidline in "Blitz & Glitz"
  • Yves Rocher "Pure Light" liquid foundation -- I got this in a Bloomingbox
  • MAC prolongwear concealer in NW40
  • MAC Zoom Lash mascara -- a mini size I got in a holiday set
  • 2 Revlon Lip Butters -- I love these, I plan on stocking up on them!!
  • 4 MAC lipsticks in everyday wearable colors
Wow that's a mouthful! it's almost unvelievable that pretty much everything I need fits in that one small unit..I couldn't fit a blush in there though :(

I will still be on the hunt for more acrylic items.
The one in the picture was from Alpha 55, I went to get another one and they have been out of stock for so many months! I ended up buying a heart shape one but it is not as practical...

Meanwhile if you'd like to see my current makeup collection, here you go:

On the quest for comfy summer shoes

Hey Glammies!
I'm planning an exciting trip to West Africa! I've never been there but I know it would be steaming hot!
The bad part is that I'm expected to look presentable so beach dress + flip flops combo is out of question.
Also, I will be standing for hours and might do a lot of walking, so I decided to go on the hunt for some comfy shoes that would help me brave the heat without looking like some frumpy tourist (ideally won't break the bank too!)
I went to Payless at the Morocco Mall.. disappeared for an hour then found what I needed.
A cute SA told me they were having a sale (buy 2 items get 3 for free).
Funny anecdote, I wanted one pair of shoes in size 8 and one SA said she couldn't locate them, so I look with my puppy eyes at the first SA (the cute one) and he says don't worry I'll find it a,d he fishes it out from a  far stack of shoes..morale of the story: never stop at the first setback! if someone says no, talk to someone else. This is something an Egyptian friend told me in 2009 and I am so happy I followed his advice!
So without further adieu, here are the pieces I got!
They are all from the comfy section, where more mature ladies shop but I don't care, comfort is a must.
The brown shos from Dexflex feel just like butter on the feet, so much cushioning!
The white flats will be my airport shoes, so I can slip them off real fast. They are by Comfort Plus.
The strappy sandals are another option for when I give the brown shoes a rest. They are by Comfort Plus.

How I organize my hosiery

Hey Glammies!
When you want to have an organized closet, especially in small spaces, it is important that every item has its storage place, otherwise clutter takes over!
Hosiery is one of those challenging items to organize so I decided to show you my simple trick: I tuck them inside ziploc bags! They are tight so don't take up a lot of space, and the freezer bags are transparent so I can know what color the leggings are!
I hope you like this trick. See photos below.

My beautiful business cards

Hey loves!
I love the idea of being one of the very few Moroccan beauty gurus on youtube. It is definitely a hobby, but knowing that many people take the time each day to watch my goofiness just makes me beyond happy.
I noticed I start talking about Moroccan Glamour a lot more deliberately and so, I thought, how about having business cards to hand out to people when they want to write down my links?

I found an amazing company called moo they have the most amazing cards designs and I love how fun their website it.
The best thing about them is that you can upload an ungodly amount of pictures and make different business cards out of it.. you can even make 1 business card for every picture!!
Well.. I only have one picture for my blog because I do not know how to play with picture editing software etc. so decided to use that only picture.
When you design your card you can add many features, I added a QR code for my youtube channel, so people just scan it with their smartphone and go directly to my page. How snazzy :)

I opted for the moo minicards, they are soooo adorable I just couldn't stop staring at them! Received the package from the UK to morocco after a few days.
The quality of the print is amazing!
I also got a minicard holder in bright orange to go with the picture I have and it's so handy because you can pop it open AND slide a business card out with one hand!

Moo website
