I’m back with another nailpolish swatch and review post.
This week I decided to wear Goldeneye from OPI’s Skyfall
collection.
It is definitely festive but a girl needs to get crazy every
now and then !
So I applied the first coat and it was a bit sheer and
chunky, I didn’t like the texture of it.
The second coat made it look a bit better but I still didn’t
like the finish.. I guess I wanted something less textured that looks smoother.
I will not be wearing this nailpolish by itself, I would be
using it for nail art, like golden tips or golden half moon, and even on top of
darker nail polishes.

2nd coat of OPI Goldeneye
Comme chaque semaine j'ai décidé d'essayer un nouveau vernis et vous dire ce que j'en pense. Ce weekend, j'ai opté pour Goldeneye de la collection Skyfall de OPI. Ce vernis est dans la catégorie festive donc je le mets avec mes vernis "special occasions". Mais bon, je me suis dit soyons fous/folles ! Donc j'ai appliqué la première couche, mais je n'ai pas trop aimé le rendu. Je trouve que la texture est un peu rêche, qu'il n'est pas facile à étaler, et la couvrance n'est pas top. En appliquant la deuxième couche, yallah on voit la couleur dans tous ses éclats.C'est un vernis que je mettrais de côté pour le nail art, genre une french manucure au bouts dorés ou bien une demi-lune, ou même en l'appliquant par dessus un vernis foncé.Je posterai des photos d'autres looks réalisés avec ce vernis plus tard.En attendant, voici quelques photos sous différentes lumières.
Nothing gets me more excited than new nailpolish. Why? it's a great way to add pizzaz to an outfit, when you don't want to follow a trend (neons I'm looking at you) then you can still give it a try on the tip of your nails. And MOST importantly, nailpolish looks great whether I'm 1 pound lighter or 2 (ahem..make that 6) pounds heavier.
Acheter des vernis à ongles me rend toujours heureuse. Pourquoi? parce que ça me permet d'ajouter un je ne sais quoi à n'importe quelle tenue, parce que quand la mode du moment ne me plait pas, je peux y faire un clin d'oeil avec mon vernis à ongles. Mais SURTOUT, parce que mon vernis à ongles est toujours beau à voir que je mette du 36 ou du 42.

So today, I decided to swatch for you the OPI Skyfall nailpolish. I have gotten it recently from an online flash sale on mazone.ma. it was at 79 dhs instead of the typical 140-120ish you'd find it normally. So I jumped at the occasion and got 5 shades. More swatches to come yay.
Donc aujourd'hui j'ai décidé de vous montrer le SKYfall par OPI. Je l'ai acheté lors d'une vente sur le site mazone.ma. Il était soldé à 79dhs contre 140-120 en général, du coup j'ai sauté sur l'occasion et j'en ai pris cinq. Je vous montrerais les autres dans les blogs suivants.
Without further adieu, here is the swatch of 1 coat of Skyfall. The opacity is mind blowing. This is a maroon burgundy that I totally see myself rocking at the office as my "power nailpolish".
Sans plus attendre, voilàa la photo de Skyfall appliqué en une couche. L'opacité est impressionnante, la couleur tire un peu sur le marron et donne plus de profondeur à ce bordeaux. Je me vois déjà porter ça au bureau.

Then just for kicks, I decided to add a second coat. Perfect!
J'ai ajouté une deuxième couche et c'était parfait.

After moving to my apartment, I decided to have a princess-like vanity.
It turned out there are basically no vanity tables sold in Morocco and after looking for several months I decided I will have one custom made.
But having a beauty corner is not only about having a pretty table. There is a plethora of little feminine touches or organization items that I would need.
So I decided to document my journey setting up my vanity corner, and promised my Youtube subscribers that once I hit 15,000 channel views, I will do a vanity tour..the clock is ticking at nearly 10k views but I am on track to get my vanity project done, one item at a time.
J'ai toujours rêvé d'avoir un petit boudoir pour me faire une beauté. Le jours où j'ai déménagé dans mon appartement, j'étais décidée à avoir un coin beauté. Malheureusement, plusieurs mois de recherches infructueuses m'ont confirmé qu'il est quasi-impossible d'acheter une coiffeuse au Maroc. Alors, j'ai décidé de m'en faire faire une.
N'empêche qu'avoir un coin beauté ne se résume pas à avoir une coiffeuse. Ce sont plein de petites touches féminines et pratiques qui font de la mise en beauté une expérience à part. C'est ainsi que j'ai commencé mon "Project Vanity" où j'ai promis à mes abonnés Youtube de faire une vidéo sur mon coin beauté. Cette vidéo sera publié quand ma chaîne aura atteint 15,000 vues, et je suis déjà à 10,000! Donc je vous montre au fur et à mesure ce que j'ai pris pour aménager mon coin beauté.
Step 1: Everyday Makeup
I bought some inexpensive acrylic storage for my everyday items. It was a pain finding these knickknacks but I'm happy with them. see my post on everyday makeup storage.
J'ai pris des boites de rangements et des pots en acrylique pour ranger mon maquillage de tous les jours (voir post précédent).
Step 2: DIY brush holder
I have watched enough YT videos to know that a beads brush holder is a must and looks super cute. But the beads were to find nowhere and I wasn't happy with the vases in stores. Until I finally found the perfect vase for me and did a quick video showing where I got the items from and what my brush holder looked like. So cute!!
Ensuite, je me suis inspirée de plusieures vidéos sur Youtube pour finalement faire mon vase porte-pinceaux dans la vidéo ci-dessous.
Step 3: a Moroccan Touch
I decided that in true Moroccan fashion, I will make sure to introduce Moroccan touches whenever possible, so I got some cute bottles to store my lotions & potions, and a nice traditional silver tray to hold my perfumes.. which for now sits on a tiny stool.
Pour garder la touche Marocaine, j'ai décidé de mettre mes produits liquides dans d'adorables bouteilles artisanales que j'ai acheté dans la médina de Marrakech. Je vais probablement ajouter d'autres objets argentés.

Step 4: a tabletop Mirror
A funny anecdote is that I spent quite some time with no mirror in my apartment. Whenever I wasn't sure about an outfit, I had to run to the elevator, check myself out and go back to my place hahah good times.
Anyway, I did buy few cheap mirrors but for applying makeup, I needed a magnifying one especially for when I'm not wearing my glasses. So ended up getting one from Alpha 55.
Je suis restée plusieurs semaines sans miroir et je me regardais dans la glace de l'ascenseur haha. Heureusement ces temps sont révolus, j'ai acheté des miroirs et surtout un petit miroir tout beau pour ma coiffeuse. De chez Alpha 55
For now, these were the items I got to get by while waiting to finally have a vanity table where all my makeup and skincare can live happily.
Hey Loves! Last month, I was with my sister at a supermarket and picked a random nailpolish from Maybelline... Little did I know that it would be the start of a love affair!
Le mois dernier, j'étais avec ma soeur à Marjane et j'ai pris un vernis au hasard "Color Show" de Maybelline, maintenant je ne peux plus m'en passer!
I loved the lacquer so much that I went and got another one, then a week later got a third one. I tried to look up swatches online, but didn't find much especially for darker skintones. So here is a detailed review of the product:
J'ai tellement aimé ce vernis Maybelline, que je suis retournée deux autres fois pour prendre d'autres couleurs, et voici ce que j'en pense:
Maybelline Color Show in "Mauve Kiss"

Mauve Kiss:
This was the first purchase in this line and the reason why I bought the 2 others! I applied it on my nails, and it was very opaque with great color yield, I could have gone with a single coat, but still applied my 2-coats + topcoat. It lasted me 2 weeks I kid you not! You can see me wearing on several of my videos. Rating: 5/5
C'est la première couleur que j'avais achetée et la raison pour laquelle je suis revenue. L'application sur l'ongle était facile avec un rendu opaque. Une couche aurait été suffisante, mais en en mettant deux plus topcoat, j'ai gardé ce vernis 2 semaines, ménage et tout! le coup de foudre!! d'ailleurs vous pouvez le voir sur plusieurs de mes vidéos. Note 5/5
Maybelline Color Show in "Shimmery Wine"

Shimmery wine: This goes on rather sheer when compared to the previous color, so 2-coats is a must. I loved the glitters and the color was fun to play with. I got too lazy to apply my top-coat and yet it lasted well over 10 days! It's a very playful cherry color that I enjoyed though not as much as the previous one. Rating: 4/5
Cette couleur est moins opaque que la première avec un petit effet scintillant, je pense que la couleur est plus fun. Etant trop paresseuse, j'ai pas mis de top coat, et même avec ça ce vernis a tenu bon 10 jours!! Note: 4/5
Brick Shimmer: I decided to get one more shade so went for this coppery color. When I applied it, it was the same quality as the first color I bought, excellent payoff, very thick and opaque, one layer would have been enough. Oh and there was a promotion going on so I had a free nail file ^_^
J'ai tellement aimé ces vernis Color Show que j'ai décidé d'acheter un 3ème. Et coup de chance, il y'avait une promo avec une lime offerte pour chaque achat! Bingo! Note 5/5
Maybelline Color Show in "Brick Shimmer" (Swatch on NC 45 skin)
The reason I had to keep looking is that some colors were just too intimidating (yellow, fluorescent green..) so I had to dig each time to see a wearable color... though I am seriously considering a yellow maybe just for kicks... what do you think? should I get the yellow?
La sélection couleur était limitée et les stocks variables selon le magasin, mais je suis très contente des couleurs que j'ai prises. Vraiment adorables! C'est un vernis que je recommande.
